Refractory / Slag Pot Coatings
Waterborne refractory coatings are superior, high temperature, sprayable slag pot release coatings. These coatings prevent hot slag and trace metal from sticking to the sidewalls and bottom of slag pots. Also available are metal splash deflector coatings. The insulating quality reduces heat loss, saves BTU's and protects personnel from heat fatigue.
THERMACRETE
THERMACRETE is a proprietary water-based blend of high-performance refractory agents dispersed in a silicate based binder. Thermacrete was engineered and rigorously field tested to produce a safe, easy to use non-toxic product that delivers a tough, long-lasting surface that is far superior to all other slag pot coatings.
Advantages:
Increased Slag Pot Life
Lower Slag Pot Repair Cost
Reduced Pot Carrier Fuel Cost & Maintenance y Keeps More Slag Pot In Service
Contains no volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Contains no Polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon)

Equipment Required
Graco King 56:1 air driven piston pump with a 50 ft. hose and 10 ft. spray wand attachment.
Graco drum lid continuous air mixer with inlet hose attachment.
Air compressor with hose capable of 80 PSI or higher.
PREPARATION & APPLICATION
All surfaces to be coated should be free of dirt, particles or any foreign matter. Mix Thermacrete well before each use. With pot tipped on its side and hot from previous pour, begin at the bottom center of the pot 1 -2 ft. above the surface and work spray out to lip. Continue until entire pot is evenly coated. Thermacrete can also be applied at ambient temperatures if allowed to dry and set before pot is put into service. Remember, 1- 2 gallons as all that is needed to coat 850 sq./ft.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Full face shield and/or safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing to avoid skin contact.
CLEANING AND STORAGE
Return spray wand and hose to their storage station. Immerse spray tip into water and hold until next application. Clean equipment using water. Keep original material container closed when not in use. Keep from freezing.
